Tasburgh United F.C.
A Brief History – 2012 to Date
Tasburgh United Football Club was formed in 2012, initially the club was aimed at youth football, starting with an under 8’s and under 12’s team. Due to popular demand, midway through the first year an under 10’s team was added.
Currently we have 8 youth teams, U7’s, U8’s, U9’s, U10’s, U12’s, U13’s, U15’s and our Wildcats (for girls aged 5 to 11), our home ground is located at Tasburgh Village Hall. Most of our training is at the Long Stratton 3G pitch, which we believe is the best facility for the development of our young players.
The club is FA Charter Standard accredited which highlights the hard work put in by all of volunteers. Launched in 2001, The FA Charter Standard Programme supported by McDonald’s is The FA’s accreditation scheme for grassroots clubs and leagues. Its goal is to raise standards in grassroots football, support the development of clubs and leagues, recognising and rewarding them for their commitment and achievements. With this in mind, The FA Charter Standard accreditation is awarded to clubs and leagues rigorously adjudged to be well-run and sustainable – and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and implementation of the Respect programme.
The club continues to grow, and each year, aims to bring in a new age group as the rest of the children move up through the age brackets. At Tasburgh United, you will find a group of people whose main aim is to enjoy their football. From coaches to players, our focus is on our children having fun and enjoying their football development.
We are always looking for volunteers to assist in coaching our young people and assistance is given to develop our coaches’ knowledge and skills, if you’re interested in this please see our ‘Get involved page’.
